The presentation will explore how this philosophy helped shape our technologies, high manufacturing standards and comprehensive long-term service agreements. Simultaneously, we will investigate how the long term approach shaped the maintenance solution. Finally, the presentation will shed light on the bridge that connects design to service – vertically integrated production.

A Chapter of Women of Wind Energy, WoWE Quebec’s goal is to educate and to increase the involvement of women in the industry through networking events, educational programming and mentorship. WoWE Quebec was launched in 2013. Its leadership committee consists of nine women from Senvion, EDF EN, Boralex, sdv logistics, AQPER, TechnoCentre Éolien and the Canadian-German Chamber of Commerce. GE’s Karen Hernandez will share how wind turbines can perform in freezing and extreme conditions across parts of Canada, preserving annual energy production for wind operators. She will share case studies and walk through software and hardware options that help detects and mitigate ice, reducing energy loss and capturing power.
