Jimmy Royer


Jimmy Royer has an electrical engineering degree from the University of Sherbrooke. He has been involved in renewable energy for 29 years and has lead various projects in developing countries to provide energy for rural electrification with support from different NGOs and government organizations such as the Canadian International Development Agency and the International Finance Corporation.

For the last twelve years, he has been Senior Technical Advisor at Natural Resources Canada and since 2012 he has been Program Manager of Canada’s Wind Power Production Incentive and ecoENERGY for Renewable Power programs, where he was instrumental in developing the terms and conditions of these two renewable deployment programs.

Jimmy is also involved in different federal initiatives addressing grid integration and storage of variable energy sources and increased use of renewables in remote communities such as the ecoENERGY Innovation Initiative and the web-based Remote Communities database.
